The SHIMANO EW-AD305 adapter allows the connection of EW-SD50 with EW-SD300 cables of the STEPS or Di2 components. This creates, for example, the possibility of upgrading previous STEPS components with those of the „2nd generation“.
The EW-SD300 cable is more compact, has a smaller diameter E-Tube connector and is not compatible with the „1st generation“ STEPS/DI2 components without the adapter. It was introduced with the STEPS EP8 series.
